#29 Mirror, mirror on the wall
Apr 20th, 2011 by Ashley
Through the crossed rivulets on the steamed glass,
she thought she saw a smile
punctuated by a blob of toothpaste bubble
whose neon shine long removed.
She didn’t remember the last time she wiped the glass,
neither did she recall how the stains got there,
like the creases and dips and motes
that she ever so conscientiously tried
to smooth to brighten to fair
with her makeup artist’s kit of toiletries.
Bathroom rendered a battlefield
with helpless hair lying, crying a silent elegy
with glass hastily mopped, leaving trails of futile efforts
Hours spent, alas, nobody noticed.
(浴室被人佔據很久後的有感而發)
