This is so last year.
I’m just kidding.
Borrowed this from the library last week.
Saw the preview last year and my interest was aroused instantly. However, people around me thought it stupid and had no intention in watching it ~”~ Plus, it’s got a bad review, so I can’t help but doubting my “sense towards movie” again, but it actually turned out that I didn’t lose my instinct of picking the movie I’ll like.
The story was simple. I guess it’s not as exciting as Jumanji (What kinda ridiculous name is that anyway), of which Zathura was like the space version or sequel. I’ve never seen Jumanji cuz it always gives me the feeling that it’s a horror movie and I’ve always hated Robin Williams. Therefore, I cannot compare the two films. In short, Zathura is a feel-good movie about the relationship of two brothers, Danny and Walter. Don’t look into too much of the detail and don’t obsess with what makes sense and what doesn’t, justy enjoy the movie, enjoy the beautiful Kristen Stewart (though she was frozen most of the time.) Seriously, it’s meaningless to rationalize the plot. You’d wanna argue that the house should have long broken down into piece after several attack from inside and out, but hey, they wouldn’t be in the outer space if it weren’t a fantasy movie. (speaking of which, I was kinda annoyed when seeing Zathura was categorized under sci-fi adventure. I mean, come on, what kinda of sci-di is that…)
Ayways, it’s not grand, but it’s definitely a warm and fun 100 minutes of your life.
