I shall never forget the weekend Laura died. A silver sun burned through the sky like a huge magnifying glass. It was the hottest Sunday in my recollection. I felt as if I were the only human being left in New York. For Laura’s horrible death, I was alone. I, Waldo Lydecker, was the only one who really knew her.
A classic ’40s ’50s detective film noir starring the elegant Gene Tierney who only appeared in the half of the movie and was glamourous and stunning. She was composed and graceful and her acting was subtle and convincing. It’s a hord-boiled style of mystery story about love, jealousy and moral conflicts.
Very very worthy of my 87 minutes plus special features.

Watched Gene Tierney’s biography. It was even more dramatic than the movie. The unluckiest lucky girl in the world, so her ex-husband described her. A beautiful person from within to out had lived little time of happiness. She was suffered from betrayal, heartbreak and loss of her love which led to her mental illness.
So sad… poor Gene
