I am Your Sunshine

last week, one day after work, when I was at the bookstore, done reading, coffee drinking and music listening, ready to hit the bakery and supermarket and go home, I came across someone I met a week before. I didn’t recognize her a all until she called my name. And unfortunately she seemed to have all the things in the world she wanted to talk about, like where I had my hair done, how we dressed differently and whatnot… all those meaningless female chitchat. And all I was thinking was hoping that the bakery wouldn’t close too early. And scheisse, when I finally got the chance to ask, “what time is it now? shoot! I gotta run.” the bakery failed to wait for me.

One thing irritated me the most was that we were talking about hair. How we never do our hair in the states and always wait til we go back to Taiwan and how sometimes we’re just forced to pick a local hairstylist because it’s getting unbearable. And yeah, I said I was thinking about cutting my hair short. Her reaction was like it’d be the end of the world. She said, “Don’t!!!!!! Guys like girls with long hair.” I tried hard to hide despisal. The very first time I met her, she made it perfectly obvious that she’s desperate. All she talks about is getting a man and gossiping about soandso has a crush on one of our fellow friend. Give me a break. All that you do can be about men and for men, but you don’t have to scream the fact with every single cell on your body and you definitely shouldn’t think that all single girls out there share the same mentality. Ergh.

and the reason i wanna have my hair shorten is purely for myself.
