Mamma Mia

Not as good as I expected. Guess this kinda story just cannot move me. It had to be either hysterically hilarious (I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change; Avenue Q, Spamelot and etc) or a serious drama (Les Mis, The Light in the Piazza and etc.) Mamma Mia was not so funny yet the story not too good either. Choreography was not very impressive and there’s a lot of room for improvement in their body language.

ABBA’s songs were the only light of the show. Oh, that and the mention of Chelsea season ticket!

I don’t like mamma mia too, I think it heavily depends on people’s love on songs of ABBA. It doesn’t have a sense of originality (possible typo here XD).
And yes, the choreography isn’t good enough. I don’t get it why it has all the attention throughout the years and I am glad I didn’t watch it couple years ago when I was visiting London. (I chose to watch Andrew Lloyd Webber’s not so successful musical, Whistle down the wind instead)

yeah, it’s an okay musical (because ABBA’s songs are the backbone of the show) but I really don’t know why it’s so popular over the years. It’s so over-rated! I love ABBA’s music but I’d rather watch ABBA dvd or listen to their albums.
It’s not really funny and you can tell that they’re TRYING to be funny. To a point that it’s kinda sad.
