and then say goodbye to Swish
Jan 11th, 2008 by Ashley
I guess I was too overwhelmed to post. (B: Liar. Truth is, you were busy with something else.)
But still, it’s the most heart breaking transfer (is that what it’s called in pro baseball?) news this year offseason. Trading Haren was sort of a shock but I was never a big fan of Dan so I’m okay. Not that I don’t like him. He’s a good guy (card delivered) and our ace, but it didn’t hurt to see him go. Swisher, on the other hand, was part of the reason why I love the Green and Gold. Beside the special connection I have with him his fielding and ability to hit long balls, Swish can lift up a team’s spirit and bring a lot more than baseball to his team and the fans.
It felt weird. It’s like you can trade anybody but not Swish, cos Swish is the heart and soul, he’s off limits. But in real life, no one is untouchable and pro ball is, after all, entertainment business.
So goodbye, Swish, and best wishes.
(Just… don’t come back and beat us too often.)
Now, who’s next?
