Leslie Caron /Gigi/
May 16th, 2005 by Ashley
using my landlord’s super hugh TV w/ DVD player, finally I was able to watch Gigi without skipping any part of it. (I guess the DVD player I have on iBook is too picky.)
anyway, after seeing it, I kinda like it, so I went online imdb it a bit. Gigi is played by Leslie Caron who was born in 1931. Therefore, the little girl I just watched jumping up and down is actually a grandma now. However, she still looks vivacious in her recent photos. I hope her lively spirit does preserve thru time. Did a bit study on her filmography and discover that she was in Le Divorce which I’ve just seen not long ago, but of course I have no memory of seeing her. Afterall, it’s been…almost 50 years?
But it really makes you stop and …. be amazed. How time can pass so swiftly. How a person can change bit by bit thru time, and at the same time, how a person can keep his/her characteristics intact. Speaking of which, I can’t help but wonder (again) how Matthew Broderick had turned into a unimportant, shy guy from that confident, charming, bright young man. I don’t believe that one’s acting ability would actually worsen in any way, so the only explanation is that he’s affected (profoundedly) in reality, even more, he’d injured and he hadn’t got out of the trauma ever since.
Life sure is tough. And I hate seeing people I love failing/ being discouraged/being beaten while those who I dispise are happily on their way to paradise.
