歌詞裡的 it 究竟指的是什麼，眾說紛紜，有各種不同的解讀。一些人認為這是首反墮胎的歌，因為歌詞說到

但是這首歌的作者 Jeff Lynne 宣稱，這是在講愛與失去愛。
當然，就像所有寫出被懷疑是在寫吸毒, get high 的歌的作者們都會否認他們是在寫吸毒, get high，要不要相信他們，是你的選擇。
