Geek power!!!
okay, he prefers nerd.

for 07-08 season.
So far, Bionic Women is really good. I like the girl who played Jamie and her sister Becca is cute as well. I didn’t even have time to check out Gossip Girl, but I’ll probably skip it. There are too much going on. Who’d thought, after so many shows ended and so many gone bad (Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, House*), there are still so many good stuff surfacing and it’s only the 4th day of the season! Man, too much good stuff.
Life (NBC) sounds interesting. An out of date detective reinstated to his former job. Being in jail for 11 years (he’s innocent, of course), he has a lot to catch up on. Somehow it reminded me of Life on Mars (a BBC series). Even though Life on Mars is about a detective who traveled back to the past and has to endure all the “unprofessional” ways to investigate cases and Life is just the other way around. Haven’t watched it, but I like the plot.
And Dirty Sexy Money. Dirty Sexy Money was a blast! This Darling family is hilarious. I love the tone, the flow and vivid characters.
*well, everyone has his/hers own idea whether and when the shows have jumped sharked. I’m just saying those shows are over for me.

Okay, I know A- is an outrageously high score for this movie, but I love it. (Like I once LOVED XXX. I now find it incredibly stupid, but the feeling was irrational; it’s how I felt. )
Delirious is not just another feel-good movie. It doesn’t try to teach you something. The people in it were not all very likable. You’d feel for them but then you wouldn’t try to find excuses for them. Somehow, during and after watching this film, I felt delighted. Perhaps it’s because Michael Pitt is such an eye candy. =D
Happy mid-Autumn Festival!
It’s hot pot day (thanks for Chun! I didn’t help >< shame on me), so no TV for me (well, a little bit TV), hence no TV review. shows to catch up: Chuck, New Amsterdam, Dancing with the Stars and Boston Legal. Barton's homer in the first inning was the first run on board of the game, but the A's ended up handed the win to Schilling. Gaudin's back to back to back to back BB didn't help, either. Schalke 04 climbed to 2nd with a 2-0 win against MSV Duisburg today. :)

Wasn’t its best, but sure is good as a beginning of another exciting TV season. Father – daughter thing is sweet but unfortunately it’s one-way. It disgusts me to see her coming back for another guy but made Stark think he still has his sweet and lovely girl who wanna build a real relationship with her dad.
I know moving on and all that crap. Still I cannot pull for this Grant guy, even though he’s now officially Chelsea’s new manager. I’ll take the risk that he might turn out to be good (doubtful) and I might grow to like him (mercy!) and my comments will come back and slap me in the face. But before he shows us some stuff (a UEFA pro license would be a good place to start), I won’t hesitate to express my despisal.
To get a better perspective, I skimmed through the articles when Raneiri was sacked and Mourinho was named the new manager. However, the situation is different. Raneiri was sacked first then Mourinho was hired. Grant, on the other hand, was planted beside Mourinho and later took over the place. Hard not to hold grudge against him. Let along the embarrassment he brought us. BBC Sports and ESPNsoccernet are sporting headlines on Grant’s suspicious coaching qualification. And the uninspiring pre and post game interview, ergh. We might have like him better if he just keep his mouth shut. Talk about not exposing your shortcomings!
love this post on CaughtOffside, it’s so mean.

this is just an overview (der Ueberblick, one of the words I learned from the Schalke article today!)
Last night, Shark (s2) gave us a taste of 2007/08 season, and tonight we’re treated with Dancing with the Stars (s5), Heroes (s2) and Journeyman (s1). It’s getting busy! (… as if i was not busy.)

A’s: L L L L L W L
It all began with their inability to sweep the Rangers, the A’s went home and got swept by the Mariners. Blanton was unable to continue his September winning streak (mind you, A’s offense didn’t help, either.) Haren was able to sneak out with a win, the elusive 15th win and the A’s fell over and were unable to prevent Indian’s celebration of post-season clinch. But seriously, if you put Braden in this kinda situation, you’re not looking for a win. (A’s bullpen held on and worked 5.5 shutdown innings but the offense were deep asleep today.)
Chelsea, after a painful nil-nil to Blackburn at home last week, they drew Pot4 Rosenborg in the midweek UCL group stage first round, at home! Simply unbelievable. And the next day we were informed that Jose Mourinho will no longer be our manager, which means no more stylish figure in gray Armani coat putting on faces, yelling and jumping up and down by the pitch, no more smart remarks that piss a lot of people off. I went through shock, disbelief, numb, anger, sad, hurt, denial, numb… you name it. And I tried to move on, as we should accept it as a course of life, and tried to focus on cheering our boys. However, Avram Grant put on an unimaginative show for us and combined with refereeing injustice, Manure took three points away. [updated]I took hardcore Chelsea fans’ defense “I was there when we were shit”, when being accused of glory hunting, to ease the frustration A’s gave me this season. Are we, the blues, are now facing the test again?
Schalke lost 0-1 to Valencia at home in UCL group stage first round. However, they had a strong comeback against Arminia Bielefeld this weekend, scoring 3-0 and now sitting on the 5th of league table.
Fiorentina drew with FC Groningen in EUFA Cup this week, taking an away goal with them, and beaten Catania 0-1 courtesy of Mutu’s goal in the 4th minute and now sitting on the 3rd of Serie A table.

Life goes on.
I’m kinda offended by gumby’s Calm the F**K Down speech. Yeah, I know it’s not the end of the world and we who proud ourselves as true blues should support the boys especially in a time like this. But questioning my loyalty and accusing me of potential ship-jumping simply because I’m moaning over Jose’s departure is just rude. Why does a mourning supporter have to endure this kinda abuse and insult for being relatively new? People hold different levels of love or hatred toward Mourinho and people have different ways and require short or long time to be depressed, to vent, to feel like it’s the end of the world and to get back on track. One has to be ignorant to suggest that I’ll be gone if we’re half way towards not winning anything this year. Heck, see how I’m still sticking with the green and gold here? Talk about suckiness. Heaven knows I care little about trophies. I like them because winning trophies brings smile to my beloved players’ faces.
I’m taking it personally and why shouldn’t I? I have nothing against gumby, but I felt as if I was slapped in the face (by a friend) when I’m down low lost and sad. The intention was good but it sure deemed unnecessary and you wouldn’t expect me just to eat it, right? (well, the most I can do is to rant here… orz)

It was actually a great until I was back from the company outing. I sat down in front of my PC, checked the final score, Mariners 9-5 A’s. I can’t say I was surprised. But then I found out the news about Mourinho’s departure.
Speechless.
I skimmed through all relevant discussions online. I still cannot accept the fact that Jose, the special one, our beloved gaffer was sacked. Well, they said he “part company today by mutual consent”.
I know managers come and go; heck, players come and go. But deep down I always thought that Jose will be with us til the end of time, and after that, JT will be his successor. I just bought Jose Mourinho: Made in Portugal last week. I was gonna learn more about pre-Chelsea era Jose Mourinho and looked forward to more amazing things he’s gonna do with the blues.
And now he’s gone.
I’m still in shock; I’m still in denial. But I wanna thank Mourinho for the heart and soul you put into the blues, for all the quotables, for all the fun and joy you brought us on and off the field. You’re always our special one, a Chelsea legend. Thank you, Jose. We love you, and we’ll miss you.

Not as good as I expected. Guess this kinda story just cannot move me. It had to be either hysterically hilarious (I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change; Avenue Q, Spamelot and etc) or a serious drama (Les Mis, The Light in the Piazza and etc.) Mamma Mia was not so funny yet the story not too good either. Choreography was not very impressive and there’s a lot of room for improvement in their body language.
ABBA’s songs were the only light of the show. Oh, that and the mention of Chelsea season ticket!

ERGH.
Chelsea drew a 1-1 at home against Norweigen club Rosenborg. Chels has possesion 63% of the time, has 29 shots, 18 of them were off target, 8 corners whereas Rosenborg only has 8 shots, 2 of them on target and 1 corner. Statistic doesn’t translate into result. Told you statistics is crap.
Schalke lost nil-1 at home.
Well, I guess I don’t have the luxury to worry about Schalke right now.
Porto drew 1-1 at home.
I don’t really care about Porto but I sure hope they worked harder.
Milan scored 2 strong and early but given up 1 goal in added time for Benfica.
Real Madrid led, was equalized and regained the lead; took Werder Bremen by 2-1.
I wasn’t unable to watch the game without interruption (our game and Schalke match as well.) Usually I wouldn’t bother to recap this kind of game, but I’m definitely gonna download this one and see how bad we were.
Chelsea suck big time in the beginning of this season. We’ve better found a way to make a strong come back. Continue Reading »

Continue Reading »
