Good game.

Lately, I found myself anticipating for the bottom of the lineup. There must be something wrong with it but I’m just glad that there are still players on the team keep me anticipating. (And they didn’t let me down today, either. Hannahan went 3 for 5, Scutaro went 2 for 4, Suzuki went 2 for 4 and Ellis, who went 1 for 3, took one for the team and ended up to be the winning run in the bottom of tenth.)

Go A’s.

I wrote about this album two months ago. Here

本來是打算寫 Butch Walker [Letters] 的, 但今天在車裡將 Butch Walker 換下, 放入當初並沒有給我特別好或是深刻的印象的 Better Than Ezra [Friction, Baby]. 我還在想, 我喜歡 Butch Walker 的聲音, 有厚度且有變化, 但當 Kevin Griffin 獨特的嗓音從音響中傳出, 略帶憤世嫉俗地唱著 There’s an angel on the stairs (as if you’d even care) When the lights go up, and the sun has nearly gone down, 我馬上想起我有多愛 Better Than Ezra. 先不論他們的歌詞多麼的細緻動人, 光是 Kevin Griffin 的歌聲, 可嘶吼吶喊也可輕訴低吟, 就足以令我神魂顛倒.

[Friction, Baby] 是不若他們後幾張專輯由 Closer, A Lifetime, Daylight 等抒情帶著悲淒色彩的浪漫歌曲所組成, 反而比較平淡不突出. 卻又不像 indie 那般令人雀悅的清新脫俗. 像是街邊的小河吧, 不會讓你有遇到林間忽現的細流那樣眼睛一亮, 但偶爾… 很偶爾的無意駐足才發現這個每天經過習以為常的水流竟不知為何讓你心喜. 音樂實在很奇妙, [Friction, Baby] 剛買回來時聽了兩三次就被我束之高閣, 今天再聽卻聽出了味道. 當初對 Muse 也是一樣, 已經在電台聽過幾次 Starlight, 卻在某個陷入低潮的下午被同一首歌救贖, 從此之後 Starlight 對我的意義再也不同.

[Friction, Baby] 中傾訴的故事不是 R&J 式的 teenage drama queen, 但在故作輕鬆的字裡行間, 也能品嚐出悠然流洩的情感, 只是更為溫潤. 適合在有點悶熱的夏夜, 不是特別開心也沒什麼事好難過時聽.

我一直想要放個的 league table 在 sidebar 上, 照理說應該只要貼段很簡單的 code 就可以了, 結果找遍網路竟然都找不到. 後來才發現, 原來放 league table 或是 fixture 是有 copyright 的. 要放的話一年大約需要負 17K英磅 (這是兩年前的資料)… 神經病. -_-

真可惡~

又是瓦倫, 不好打啊. 不過至少三四檔次抽到沒碰過的球隊, Schalke 04 跟 Rosenberg, 這樣比較好玩. 雖然 Schalke 04 也是硬角色.

So after the 5-game winning streak, the A’s managed a 5-game losing streak to the underdog Devil Rays and the team they just swept a week ago – Toronto Blue Jays.

Today, the consistently inconsistent Lenny DiNardo took the mound to take on Doc Halladay, who exhausted himself with 9 IP but still failed to join the 15-win club. (Oh wait, the league leaders are at 16th win, darn.)

We had a rather enjoyable game – where Lenny DiNardo gave up only two homeruns and a single and the A’s, while GIDP a bunch, managed to outscore the Jays taking advantage of the not-so-Halladay Halladay in early inning – until Huston Street emerged from the bullpen in the top of ninth, decided that the fans should be awarded with bonus baseball for being so faithful under the Aug heat, generously gave up two homeruns to tie the game and turned the game into another A’s patented tiring and frustrating game.

Thank goodness it’s still a win.
(Street should buy magic Marco and Hannahannahan a dinner!)

So the A’s continues to their quest for .500, yet again.

Monday night, we went watching the lunar eclipse on Mt. Hamilton. The shadow of earth slowly swallowed the moon. It looked evil, but the total eclipse just looked plain. It’s fun, we were loud (sorry to the couple in the car next to us.) We also saw a few shooting stars.

A good time was had. :)

今天早上我從 Butch Walker 的 Letters 轉到 Channel 1049, 因為我想聽 Muse 的 Starlight. 我也知道這個機率微乎其微, 不過不試試怎麼知道呢? 1049 果然不是在放 Starlight, 卻傳來了 Corey Taylor 沙啞的嗓音唱著 looking at you through the glass Don’t know how much time has passed… “That’ll do.” 我這麼想著, 很快地陷入 Taylor 試圖清描淡寫卻又無比深刻的傾訴. No one ever tells you that forever feels like home sitting all alone inside your head…

半年前我愛上了這首歌, 直到現在都還是能帶給我同樣的感動. Through Glass 算是 Stone Sour 的神來一筆, 有點像 Hoobastank 的 The Reason, 跟他們慣走的曲風不同. 藉著 The Reason 我認識並愛上的 Hoobastank, Stone Sour 到目前為止對我來說還只是 One-Single band. 也許有朝一日, 我也會開始喜歡”他們的”音樂. :)

You said you hate Man Utd and Chelsea. Okay, fine. But how come you fail to call Man U names (Manure is a good place to start) while you have it from the bottom of your heart to the top of you tongue to call Chelsea Chelski? (Having a brain size of Mikel’s?)

Deny all you want. You can’t fight the fact that all reds* flock together along with the friggin’ Angels. So up yours, goner Arse and Liverpoor (oh, poor, poor you). There, I said it.

I’ve been looking forward to Avenue Q for three years, Mark Ellis Bobblehead Day three month, and I didn’t realize that they were going to fall on the same night until three weeks ago. $70 Avenue Q over priceless Ellis bobblehead, the choice is clear – I’m gonna buy the cheapest ticket, get the bobblehead, and hop on BART to the theatre.

Everything went according to my plan, except for a bit extra walking cos I didn’t want to exit from the entrance. I got in line for the ticket, was worried whether the bobblehead would run out, but fortunately there were still plenty in gate MM. I got it and then went to the A’s store and pick up another A’s official magazine cos it was Dan Haren on the cover. (They cheat! How can they put three of my fav players on the cover three months in a row to make me HAVE to buy all of them!) As I came out of the stadium toward the BART, I was heading the opposing direction as of most of the people. With the bobblehead in my bag (I’d feel even worse if it were in my hand), I felt cheap. I could feel people’s glaring with contempt, even though some of them complimented on my boots (heh!); I screamed in my heart… “I’m not like those who go in and out of the stadium to get 10 bobbleheads, I wanted to watch the game but I can’t!!!!”

Anyways, Avenue Q was hilarious. Love the flurry monster! =)

A young rising star, Antonio Puerta, age 22, who was born and raised in Sevilla collapsed on the Sevilla ground (Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, home stadium of Seville FC.)

Even though I don’t know him well, it makes me so sad hearing that he had a series of cardiac arrests during a game against Getafe CF three days ago and passed away today.

最近眼睛癢得難過, 點眼藥水也不見有什麼效果. 而且我發現不太像以前只是眼睛癢, 這次似乎是眼睛周圍的皮膚都很癢, 臉上有些地方也偶爾會癢癢的… 其實是眼睛周圍的皮膚過敏? 這是要怎麼辦啊?

我覺得我眼睛周圍的皮快要被我揉爛掉了. (有時是在睡夢中揉的, 根本無法克制自己)

為什麼你對自己那麼客氣啊!
