對於流浪對於尋找自我這種流行已經有一陣子東西, 我實在沒有太大的想望. 我不知道要找什麼, 我完全想不出能找到什麼.

但轉念想想, 這麼多人大力推薦的東西, 必有其妙處所在. 當我在迷罔不知該向何處去的時候, 也許會在一團迷霧之中莫名其妙找出方向. 啊~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 煩

很久沒在大庭廣眾下怒吼了

Show Me the Money preview show right after Dancing with the Stars. It’s kinda Ew~~~ Although I like William Shatner, there’s still a limit to it. However, I love the questions! If I had grown up in the States, it would be a tiny piece of cake for me!

Are you kidding me? I wouldn’t know what country is the first to legalize same-sex marriage (but surely I’d guess some northern/western European country), but he knew it was where Amsterdam but he thoought it is in Denmark. Sigh, no wonder people always say Americans don’t have a sense of geography. (Remember the “World map according to American” I posted long time ago?)

I like the last question. I knew William Makepeace Thackeray sounds familiar and it’s so easy if you know that he’s the guy who wrote Vanity Fair… come on, you know the answer.

Ah~~~ I like this kinda game show. >< it'd be another level of fun if i'm allowed to use internet, say for several seconds.

While it’s in commercial, let me talk a bit about the alleged romantic relationship between Mario and Karina. I didn’t know about this rumor until Fran bursted out “Aren’t those two together?” while passing by the TV a couple weeks ago. I wouldn’t know cos I don’t care about celebrity gossip… who’s using drug, who’s dating whom… that kinda stuff. Those some perceived juicy means little to me. What matters more is the role they portrait in the show. No matter it’s for real or not, like one of the blogger said, their relationship, like all setside relationships, will most possibly die away while the show comes to an end. It’s similar to office romance and feelings developed during war time and crisis. Once removed from the environment/circumstances, they usually find they have little in common and even have hard times to make conversation. We’ve heard enough stories like this.

Let’s go back to the competition.

Now that there are only two couples, it’s very different when there’s a group. One have to see the other as the rival, the enemy at this stage. You can no longer say, “Everyone is awesome.” Cos now it’s really either you’re better, or you’re worse. So you’ll have to be better than the other, and you’ll also have to claim you’re better than the other. Humidity doesn’t work in final stages. (In some sport, humidity doesn’t work in any stage.) The first round they danced to the same song. It’s cruel and you gotta have a strategy. Mario and Emmitt are very different and they have different approaches to outstand their performances. Now, like Tom said, it’s down to the taste – heartthrob or football champion gentleman.

比起上一集, 這集略為遜色. 我想上集氣氛營造的較好. 但是其中 Tom Jeter 這個角色, 在連續三集的刻劃下來, 叫人越來越喜愛他了. 回頭看看 Alan Shore, 看看 Jed Barlet, Leo, Luke Danes (第六季被寫壞了), Harlem Judd 等, 他們之所以讓人喜愛, 也許就是因為他們對於自身認定的美感的堅持. 也許那些堅持在旁人眼中看來無關緊要, 也許他們本身並不是全然的正直, 但他們那樣即使遍體鱗傷也要維護自己所認定的東西, 讓人看了忍不住疼到心底.

關於 Jordan 的角色定位, fmodem寫得好. Jordan本當是個女強人, 在劇裡卻越來越看起來不知所措, 除了有成功的歷史以及滿腔理想外, 看不出有其他能夠貢獻本劇的特質, 這角色越來越顯得多餘. 有人對 Jack 於最後的熱血表現很激賞, 我卻覺得那段有點太過做作, 也許是因為我聽得懂中文, 父女間的對話顯得很假很不自然, 於是整個小插曲變得很刻意. 雖然如 Danny 所說, “I can kiss you all over your face.” 在我看來 Jack 的位置仍舊搖移不定, 也許就像現實生活中的人, 並不一定立場堅定, 並不一定有絕對的是非黑白. 但話說回來讓觀眾困惑也不是什麼好事啊.

喔對了, 差點忘了說. 最後 Matt & Harriet 那段, 一般來說看了應該會覺得很溫暖窩心, (我光在心裡想像就覺得很甜), 然而看完我只覺得 “Urgh, give me a break.” 他們兩之間實在缺乏令人信服的火花.

有趣了.

這輪是在家裡對上 West Ham.

在 CaughtOffside 看多了 LP 跟 West Ham 的恩恩怨怨, 不知道這場比賽雙方會磨擦出什麼樣的火花. 也許更多八卦跟本來已經冷卻的閒言閒語又會再度蔓延. 不過說真的, 不少 Chelsea 人真的是很不會做人 (“做人”倒是一個接一個 XD), 自己隊內是和樂融融萬花嘻春, 卻常有人愛對外亂放話 (老大帶頭 orz), 搞的自己眾矢之的.

十一月 清掃月
每個節目都使盡吃奶的力氣來搶觀眾, 這周的節目看起來都很精彩, 十分期待!

星期一 NBC 的 Heroes 跟 Studil 60 就不用說了, Heroes 從第一集開始就像鴉片一樣令人上癮, Studio 60 這周是 Neveda Day 的下集. 隨著各個角色的個性特質越來越鮮明, 讓人回味無窮的情節與對話. Studio 60 是一個你每看一次就會有新的領悟的影集. (忽然變成廣告詞了 XD)

星期二是 ABC 的日子, Dancing With the Stars 冠軍賽, super hottie 與 gentleman 的戰爭, 緊張刺激!! (私心希望 Emmitt 贏, 一部份原因我想也是因為實在太喜歡 Cheryl 了!) 不過 Boston Legal 停播, 緊接著 DWTS 的是 William Shatner 的節目首播, 我想未來是要取代 DWTS 的位置. (我不看娛樂新聞的… 所以這些資訊應該是早就確定的, 只是我沒去查.) CW 的 Gilmore Girls, 這周他們要去 Paris 而 FOX 的 House 依舊與討人厭的警察糾纏 (某李說他兩應該會變成莫逆之交, 不要吧~~~~~ ><) 星期三可是很盛大, Dancing with the Stars 冠軍將要出爐就不用說了, 廣告好幾周的 Day Break 終於要首映了! 然而兩小時的首映卻跟 NBC 的 Meidum 第三季首映同時, 真是討厭! 不過還好以後 Day Break 是在九點, Medium十點. 星期四是依舊八卦的 Grey's Anatomy 與本季最好看的法律戲 Shark! 真是充實的一周啊! (然後周日是無間道馬拉松, 還得收好房間!!)

I’m not watching Desperate Housewives this season, but when I saw the preview of this week, I was determined to watch it. And it turned out to be totally worth my 40 minutes. Some said it’s the best DH episode ever. I have vague memory of the first season but it was no doubt a great one. I don’t like the dream Lynette had at the ending, but I love what Mary Alice said to her, you cannot prevent what you can’t predict.

I missed Boston Legal last week and Vote 2006 took its spot this week, so I’ll count last week’s episode in. Although I missed the sharp and all-righteous Alan Shore closing, his warm and humanly approach also had its appeal. And I just love their costume this Holloween! (Alan reminded me of Morgan in Felicity in her Jackie Kennedy era.)

Grey’s Anatomy was awesome as well. Derek’s mountain trip became a guys’ outdoor slumber party. It was hiliarious. It’s a total enjoyment.

And there’s Dancing with the Stars (well, it’s not TV series but it’s the only other show I watch on ABC this season.) The three men were all fantastic, and it’s the first time (in three seasons) I can’t decide which couple I love the most. Hate, hate, hate to see Joey leave. Breaks my heart.

Studio 60 was brilliant, I was watching a spetacular episode of Shrak while writing this, so I think I should restate my title to: TV’s great this week!!

Draft 裡放了快十篇寫一半沒寫完的東西, 忍不住又要寫新的. (然後這篇又放了兩周)

昨天看了 Betty Davis 的 All About Eve, 本以為 Margo 會是個極端討人厭的角色 (被 Felicity 裡的 Xavier 誤導), 完全沒料到 All About Eve 竟是那麼一個出色的故事. 眾多奧斯卡金像獎在身的女角將劇本發揮的淋漓盡致, 好看的不得了!

Came across this in the library. I’ve always liked Julia Stiles and I was surprised to find there’s a movie with her in it that I didn’t know about.

It’s a story about women, family and friendship. (I don’t think that “love” was one of the main theme of this movie.) Carolina and her sisters, Georgia and Maine, were raised by their eccentric grandma. Each of them were named after the State where they were born. (ie. where their drunk father knocked up their mothers.) While Carolina tried hard to run away from her disfunctional family, to have a “normal” life, she realized things are not necessarily what they seem to be. It’s a nice movie. I like it a lot, except the last part when Albert showed up at the family party. It was too Hollywood-ish.

ps. Alessandro Nivola who played Albert in Carolina played Gavin (the star in Newcastle Utd) in Goal! no wonder he looked familiar to me.

Brilliant!

I love this episode. Studio 60’s definitely getting its own tone, and I’m super glad that can laughter’s gone. It’s a drama not a sitcom from the very begining. I don’t know what they were thinking.

The begining of this episode, the music and the desert scene, reminded me of Firefly.
Can’t wait to see s1e8!

Elction Day, 節目也變得奇怪, BL停播一集, 剛好讓我趕上上集沒看到的進度

What I don’t understand is. It’s semi-final already, ie. only 3 couples left. Why don’t thwy cut the show into 1 hour, instead of filling 1.5 hrs with recaps. I mean, if I wanna watch recaps, I’d record every episodes and watch as much as I like. I don’t like to be forced to waste my time.

Emmitt –
Waltz: beautiful. great posture. elegant.
cha cha cha: awesome!!!! It’s ikmpossible to watch that without a smile on your face!

Quick Step: super fun!!!!!!!!!! love it!
Rumba: they used my favorite song. romantic dance.

The first dances were all so short. Not used to that.

I voted for him (7 times) and he still lost… (it’s the first time I voted this season!!!)
I guess Mario’s just too hot and Emmitt’s too charming. Joey has little chance. :(
So sad, but in fact, if Emmitt were the guy who left the competition, I’ll be as sad as I am now. This is life…

一直都很喜歡這首乍聽之下很甜美, 歌詞就滿溢無奈悲傷的歌.

直到最近才發現, 原來 Frente! 不是原唱, New Order 像是 re-mix 舞曲的版本才是.
好驚訝啊. 因為常常聽到慢歌被翻成舞曲, 卻沒想到也有從像 New Order 這樣的一首歌改成 Frente! 那樣甜甜的歌. 兩個都很好聽就是了.

20061106 @ Great American Music Hall in SF, CA

This was actually not the first time I saw him live. I think it was about two years ago. Ada in my cell group works in Cisco and they held their 50(?) year anniversary event – Santana ft. Five for Fighting – at HP Pavalion. Ada’s husband couldn’t go so she invited me to go with her. It was my very first California concert.

Surely I have heard 100 years and superman, but I didn’t really know him back then. I thought he was ok. At least, we preferred him for Santana (I can’t help but typing “Santana Row” instead of “Santana”…)

A couple of months a go, Radio Alice played his new song “The Riddle”, and I fell in love with the song instantly. It was incredibly beautiful. Therefore, I dug up his new album “Two Lights” and loved it!

I have to say, I love small venue. I’ve been to HP Pavalion a couple of times and I can hardly see anything. You can really feel the energy and closeness in a small venue like GAMH or Slim’s. Sometimes you’d even have eye contacts with the performers! This evening, we managed to obtained a space around 3 meters away from the stage. It’s not ideal (we got to the second “row” one time at Snow Patrol concert and it was awesome!) but good enough. There were a lot of old people and some teenagers, we didn’t want to be too aggressive.

Although I’ve listened to “Two Lights” and “American Town”, the impression I have for John Ondrasik (AKA Five for Fighting) was still the quiet guy who sings ballad melody songs while playing a piano. But he turned out to be way more energetic and fun than I expected! His voice was more affective live and I enjoyed almost every song he sang. (Except the one that was dedicated for 15-year-olds. Guess I’ve passed that age…) He was also charming despite his looks (lol). I love that he had good interaction with us, told us stories and all. And I love that he loves us for being such wonderful audiences who kept silent while he sang and party like crazy when he asked us to join him. It was really awesome.

無意間在 Border’s 發現的樂團, 跟其他團不同, 這個來自 Nashville 的團, 他們流經青草邊的小溪般的歌聲與曲調, 又像是星稀夜空下的微風, 在我腦中留下了較深刻的印象.

其實, 我喜歡隨意地逛 CD (無論是圖書館, 唱片行還是書店) 勝過研究板上一堆專家的介紹. 板上是很多描寫很微妙生動的文章, 也幫助我對某團, 某領域的音樂有更深的了解. 有時介由同樣喜歡 A 團的板友的推薦也認識了更多好聽的團. 然而, 我發現靠著團名, 曲名, CD cover 這樣隨機挑選對我還說效果更好. 這就像是本來八竿子打不著的路人甲乙相識, 奇妙地一拍即合. 我們會稱之緣份. 當然過程中也會有些不提也罷的經歷, 然而, 當我遇到名不經傳卻讓我驚為天人的音樂時, 其感動與興奮無可比擬. 尤其有時我奉為天籟的音樂在別人耳中聽來可能不值一提, (這時就要把 “There’s no accounting for taste” 拿出來亮一下) 一想到若是只靠人推薦而活, 我有可能與那樣觸動我心的音樂錯身而過, 這不只是”可惜”兩字.

半夜, 她從夢中醒來, 因為窗外細碎敲碰聲.
她記起床邊微開的窗, 不敢伸手去關, 外面的人似乎很靠近, 她極怕來人推開紗窗直接跨到她床上.

腦內一些神經沒有跟著醒來, 暫時無法傳遞執行命令.

這晚她冷靜的連自己都有些驚訝, 她在心裡自己安慰著自己,
她知道心平氣和會讓這個過程容易許多,
然後, 不知不覺她又再度陷入夢鄉.

一個我一直都知道, 卻一直沒有好好去聽過的團. 最近 Alice 播了幾次他們最新一張專輯的 Move Along. 第一次聽到時便覺得主唱Tyson Ritter 的聲音很”典型”. 不是說他的歌聲普通不值一提, 而是聽了就覺得, punk 團的主唱就是應該是這樣的嗓音. 雖然類似嗓音的主唱不少, Ritter 又特別乾淨清亮, 聽起來很舒服!
