I am Your Sunshine

Went to watch Premonition last night. It was only okay.

Before the movies, previews of Disturbia, Vacancy, In the Land of Women and Waitress were shown. All of them seemed… mediocre. Not very exciting. But among them, I want to “want to” watch Waitress cos Keri Russel (Felicity) and Nathan Fillion (Firefly) are the two main characters. However, the story, too, seems pointless. :(

I LOVE IT.

especially the scene of oracle, the way they fight and how their formation changes… I don’t know the terms, I can only wow~

You have to see it on big screen.

因為有壓力所以很快就寫完了! XD
答應人家昨天要 post 出來的, 結果還是又拖了一天… 但是還沒翻成中文

還好如此, 不然很有可能連 Blue October 都看完了還沒寫出來.
說到 Blue Ocotber, 兩張專輯的 review 還沒寫完, 演唱會就要來了. 到時又要積一堆筆債了.

Some part of it almost made me wanna cry.

Uncle Nate went to “find himself” and he’s never been back since. Nick left for 10 years, wrote a book making fools of people from his hometown and went back cos one lady told him “it is the fool who fails to return to the place of his last happiness.”

Avoiding going back to the way it was somehow became the way. He finally confessed to Eddie.

Yeah, according to the preview it’s gonna get soapy and the the shots and the deployment of music didn’t really impress me. But some things stung me every now and then for a good hour, okay, 40 minutes. As I standing at this more or less crucial point of my life, I wondered…

終於把完整的 Day Break 弄到手了, 還是一樣非常好看! I don’t get ABC, Grrrr!!!

本集結尾果然如我預料, 可是我以為 Hopper 會來得及衝回去的 >< 畢竟 Foranz 的做法並不合理啊 (說法到是讓我相信了) 人家醫生說的話是很容易把平凡老百姓唬得一愣一愣的

just read a bit, but the language cannot compare with that in Saideways and The Jane Austen Book Club at all, at least for the part I’ve read. I know some don’t consider language important. I agree that beautiful language alone cannot make it a good book. But while reading, language that carries you like a flow, caresses you like the summer breeze, boosts your imagination like a vivid dream is part of the reason why I enjoy reading so much. For me, language is essential.

And now I’m thinking whether I should read something in English where the languag is not worth appreciating. Honestly, if that’s the case, I might as well read Chinese translation. (Afterall, I can finish a book in 2 or 3 hours in Chinese, nananah~)

so perhaps I should read Notes on a Scandal instead? (just requested Wide Sargasso Sea from the library.) I wanted to read House of Mirth, too. But all the copies were checked out and I didn’t know what else is better by Wharton.

Can’t wait for HL to get back from Taiwan with my books! Many thanks in advance!

真麻煩

(現在弄得是不美觀又不怎麼易讀, alas)

前陣子某天轉電視時不小心看到 CBS 正在演的 The Class, 驚訝地發現裡面有 Lizzy Caplan. 回去找找資料發現是本季的新戲, 不知為何我一點也沒注意到過. (要是早知道有 Lizzy Caplan, 我應該就會看吧.)

抓了第一集來看, 其實還蠻喜歡的. 可以當填時間的小品看 :)

上一輪歐冠 Valencia 與 Inter Milan 上演全武行, 沒有親眼目睹但聽到消息馬上就想起了二月底跟 Arsenal 打的那場架… 呃, 比賽. 今天 UEFA 的判罰下來了, Inter 與 Valencia 各被罰155772歐 (這數字怎麼來的!?)Navarro禁賽7個月, Burdisso,Maicon禁賽6場, Marchena禁賽4場, Cordoba禁賽3場, Cruz禁賽2場. 看判罰結果想必是比 Arsenal v Chelsea 還要來得激烈很多.

可是 Valencia 板上一片平和的反省, 事發時也沒有人留下紀錄. 對於到底發生了什麼事只能憑空想像. (好啦, 我知道 youtube 有影片, 我懶得去看嘛.) 不像 Chelsea v Arsenal 事件, 臺面下吵得比場上還要兇, 我想主要的原因是因為雙方本來就是死敵 (也許 Valencia 跟 Inter 沒有舊怨?)

於是在歐冠抽籤結果出來後, Valencia 板主寂寞地說板上人氣不旺時, 有人出來打趣說 “人家別的聯賽打架，板上比場上更加精采，我們家和INTER是關起門來教訓自家小孩，一點都不”熱鬧”，完全辜負了鄉民的一片期望(還要鄉民們自行推派代表另闢地方歡樂)” 說老實話, 當初聽到 Valencia 與 Inter 打起來時, 我第一個反應也是到 Valencia 與 Inter 板看熱鬧, 結果敗興而返.

嗜血真的是人性啊… 至少我確定在我裡面有.

不是場精彩的比賽, 不過有 JT 在場上防守整個穩多了. 雖然其他人一直批評很虛很抖, 我看得卻沒有很緊張, 也許是壓根不認為 Man City 可以對我們造成什麼威脅, 有些很不錯的進攻是真的, 但也就是如此. Cech 穩穩的, 加上 Carvalho 與 Terry 的組合. 也許就是有穩穩的中衛與門將組, 於是在 Lampard PK 拿下一分之後, 我們便開始安安心心地打防守了. 後六十分鐘沒看到什麼進攻, 少數的亮點之一應該是 Shawn Wright-Phillip 初換上場時的射門吧.

說到 SWP, 聽說 Man City 寧可確保 Man Utd 拿冠軍也不想給我們機會 (那也是… 他們要有這個能耐才行.) 因為我們把他們心愛的 SWP 搶走然後弄壞了. 真尷尬, 我們最近似乎背了不少這個罪名, Sheva 與 Ballack 似乎在來到 Chelsea 之後也有些故障. 不過, 為了這個原因而親向 Man Utd 也太沒節操了吧, 你們不應該是死敵嗎?

另外就是有人說 Drogba 猛度不若以往 (前半賽季). 但我覺得本賽季剛開始時, Drogba 對大家來說還只是個嘴炮王, 只會嚷嚷自己是非洲第一, 卻沒有拿出個實力來. (有沒有很像 Cuba Gooding Jr. 在 Jerry Maguire 裡的角色?) 一開始猛建奇功時別人可能還只當他運氣好, 但現在大家都會特別去防守他, 發揮度自然會稍微受限. But what do I know, right? I’m just a Terry loving newbie in the world of football.

總言之, 希望大家能好好照顧自己的身體, 穩紮紮地踢接下來的魔鬼賽程, 重建默契與士氣, 半個月後狠狠地把 Valencia 殺得片甲不流. =)

泰然自若. this is class

didn’t write much lately. seeing all those short mumbling stuffs irritates me (and this is gonna be one of them, alas.)

I have two time and heart consuming projects going on right now, thus the lack of new substantial postings. One is my The Jane Austen Book Club notes and one is my Third Eye Blind 10th Anniversary Show review. (Oh, and I was gonna write something about BBC’s drama Life on Mars.) The excitement from the concert still lingers in me and I want to shout to the whole wide world.

fight the depression

話說 Chelsea 很驕傲地還處在四項競爭中, 精確一點來說是三項, 其中一項的冠軍已經穩穩到手了. Kenyen 宣稱我們的目標仍是四項冠軍, 然而聯賽以九分之差 (我們少踢一輪) 苦苦追在曼聯身後, 眼見聯賽只剩下兩個月, 曼聯狀態如日中天, 不像我們又抖又驚傷勢連連, 雖然同樣處在三項競賽當中, 賽程都一樣多得嚇人, 曼聯看來要穩當得多.

何況他們還是領頭羊.

我在想聯賽跟其他盃賽的賽制到底是哪個比較殘忍. 像聯賽這樣, 知道自己即使往後的賽事一直贏, 即使在後來的比賽中擊敗曼聯, 也不表示我們就是冠軍. 那種無能為力的感覺, 有時候會覺得還是淘汰賽比較爽快. 贏了就是贏了, 輸了就是輸了. 但今天與 Tottenham Hotspurs 比完賽平手之後那鬆了一口氣的感覺, (雖然口頭都說輸了還比平手重賽好, 但沒有被淘汰仍是很高興.) 我想, 被迫離開一項賽事, 還是非常難以令人接受的吧.

my blog was filled with football posts, so I decided to post something I wanted to write about for quite a while.

My review on Blue October’s latest album [Foiled] was still in labor. It’s been over 6 months since I started that article. I can’t seem to finish it and now that I have another album awaits. (Blue October’s [History for Sale].) So let me write about this amazing song first.

This is a catchy song with simple lyrics expressing the love (or infatuation?) toward another person. It might be plain and insignificant to some, but I found it quite endearing. The affection was genuine and straightforward. No holding back, not afraid of getting hurt or being rejected. You can hear the innocence and the enthusiasm, and every word is heartfelt. How can you not be touched?
