六點多起來看 Chelsea v Charlton, 贏了, 真男人隊長 John Terry 有上場露個臉.
補眠.
中午起來跟 chun 去吃好吃的越南菜.
買蛋糕, 回家放東西, 看 open house.
電影: Smokin’ Aces & Because I Said So, 都很好看. 看到七點半.
跟 Welton & Jennifer 去吃 CPK (本來要吃 melting pot.)
吃完後去 Pasta Pomodoro 吃超好吃的甜點 (雖然說我昨天去吃過了, 不過好吃的東西多吃幾次無妨.)
十一點多回我們家喝好喝的 Ciroc (法國產的葡萄製的 vodka), 聊天, 看帥哥照片.

一點 Welton & Jennifer 回家, 看chelsea 板新文章, 還有 ACMilan 吵架文章.

兩點, 心滿意足去睡覺, 明天應該起不來去第二堂…

It’s another WWII story set in Vichy France, the term we’re familiarized by Casablanca. The story was adapted from the novel Sebastian Faulks published in 1999 which was inspired by many women who were trained by British government and delivered to France to help the French resistance. The movie was beautifully shot on location at Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, and the story of Charlotte Gray reminds me of the story of Rick of Casablanca.

Charlotte fell in love with a RAF pilot Peter who went on a mission and gone missing in France. Determined to find him, she accepted the recruitment of British secret service and was trained and dropped to France as a courier in hope that she’d find her lover while doing what she can to help her beloeved France. She later was misled to the death of Peter and later fell for Jullien with whom she worked in the French resistance. When the war’s over, she went back to Britan and met the miraculously living Peter. Isn’t that awful familiar? Ilsa Lund, the wife of Resistance hero Victor Laszlo, met and fell in love with Rick Blaine when she thought Laszlo was dead. But the ending are quite different. War changes people and changes are irreversible. I can feel her heart breaking when she told Peter “I cannot go back.” and I admire her courage and lucidity of who she is and what she wants.

Charlotte: I cannot go back.
Peter: You’d have listened to me.
Charlotte: Then that wouldn’t be myself.

I think it’d be a great enjoyment to watch Casablanca and Charlotte Gray in a row.

冤枉啊, 我明明什麼都看. 新片我還會看得比誰少了嗎? 不過說真的, 很多時候老片是比近代的片要來得有意思, 聲光效果也許不那麼華麗 (嘿, Kiss Me Kate 可是有 3D 的喔! XD) 故事內容與表演方式往往更能讓人感動.

The Three Faces of Eve 是由一個真實的多重人格案例改編的故事. 在片頭旁白就告訴我們電影中的女主角真有其人, 而片中的對話以及病例進展都是依據醫生的診療記錄演出, 因為 “這麼有趣而令人驚奇的故事, 不需要再加上虛構的東西”. 然而在這部片影發行後多年, 這位當事人的身份終於曝光, 原來 Eve 的故事並不如電影中所描述. 而現實生活中名叫 Chris Costner-Sizemore 的 Eve 不僅受多重人格之苦, 還被自己的心理醫生 Dr. Thigpen 剝削. Dr. Thigpen 藉口 Costner-Sizemore 的心理狀態不夠健康為理由, 為她處理一切將她的故事拍成電影的事宜, 最後付給她 $7000, 而他自己拿到了一百萬. 電影剛上映時 Thigpen 叫她不要去看, 宣稱那會對她的治療進展有不良影響, 又在之後吩咐她不可洩露自己的身份. 一直到 20年後, Costner-Sizemore 出版了她的自傳 I’m Eve 以及 1988 年的 A Mind of My Own, 大家才真正認識 Eve. 而實際上 Costner-Sizemore 並不只有三個人格, 而有二十幾個, 並且每次是以三個人格一組同時出現.

我想很多人都看過好幾個莎莉跟好幾個比利的故事, 心理案例的故事總是很有神秘的魅力, 真實案例就更不用說了! 所以我借了 A Mind of My Own 來看 :D

註一. 我就覺得裡面演心理醫生的 Lee J. Cobb 很眼熟, 但五零年代的片我明明看得不多, 原來他是 12 Angry Men 裡面其中一個陪審員.

註二. 拿出 draft 來繼續寫, 寫到一半才發現這篇是用中文寫的, 不知為啥打開檔案後就開始用英文寫下去, 完全沒發現上面 (跟下面)　都是中文… -_- 只好把寫好的英文再翻回中文去. orz

I don’t remember exactly what brought us to the subject but I told E that I’m keeping a blog the other day during lunch. Her first reaction was “then you have to write something everyday! or every other day!” I didn’t know what to reply for a moment. You see, it’s the difference in mentality. For her, writing is always a thing that she’s required to do, like the composition class in school, weekly journals written for teachers to grade (well, I’m not sure what it’s like in China.) But for me, it’s a completely different story. Yeah, it’s a pain in the neck to stare at the blank Word sheet when the paper’s due the next day; however, as a person with countless thoughts running in the brain every second, I love to put my thinkings down, insignificant or sparkle-in-a-dark-night wise.

Anyways, if the lack of imagination is a given, any attempt of elaboration might be rather irrelevant. It just strikes us sometime that things we perceive natural may be incomprehensibly foreign to others.

今年沒有. 出國以來只有前年有回家過到年. 本來一副灑脫樣, 但越靠近新年就越想念. 聽說今年過年大家會出去吃, 阿嬤沒力氣煮給一大家子吃, (阿嬤八十幾歲了耶! 好快喔…) 小輩們看來是一點也不爭氣! 於是今天在想著往年的年夜飯流口水時, 忽然起了個雄心壯志 – 明天回台灣我來做年夜飯! 今年一整年來磨練. 不過, 以我現在的程度來說, 想要做年夜飯似乎也太異想天開了, (而且整體來說, 我還是比較擅長做西式料理.) 大家大概會求我出去吃吧… orz

我要吃家裡做的年夜飯啦!!!
我可以學嘛!!!

像撕花瓣一樣每天一次, 究竟是做還不做, 說或不說, 寫與不寫… 用奇偶數來作決定, 決定作了之後, 就不會整日忐忑了. 簡單的哲學. (畢竟無法隨時找到人跟我猜拳, 尤其是有可能問到會跟我糾纏不清完全 beat the purpose of the whole thing 的人.)

冬季窗口, 各家球隊轉會新聞轟轟烈烈, 只有 Chelsea 一片平靜, 一片傷兵報導及一些證實或澄清高層內部不和的消息. 轉會窗口關閉後, 沒想到 Chelsea 還真的一個進出都沒有呢! 我本來就不會期待轉會, 球員及樂團團員的流動一向是我理智上難以接受, 情感上難以理解的事, 只希望 JT 以及 Joe Cole, Boularouz, Robben, A. Cole 趕快傷癒復出, 穩穩地在 06-07 後半賽季打下一片美好江山.

It’s a good day for Boston Legal, though the mother daughter thing is really getting old, and I really want this Denise the office slut act to be put to an end. To my surprise, I actually grew a little bit fondness toward Brad when he told Denise that he’s more of an old-fashioned guy and he’s quitting this friend with benefit thing. At that moment, I saw the beauty in him, and he’s no longer that irritating self-righteous office hunk. (though his trick is really low, needless to say.)

The point of having the costume party seemed to be 1) stressing the image of Shirley everyone holds in mind and 2) portraiting the “brotherhood” between Bard and Jeffrey. It was HILARIOUS when Coho stepping in the room in his Buzz Lightyear outfit shouting the Buzz Lightyear line after Brad in the same costume did the exactly same act seconds before.

And the Clerance/Claire relationship is sweet. I hope it’s not just a sympathy act. It has a potential to be great… a subtle way to tell us the story about Claire and perhaps Clerance without having all those office nonsense involved.

In a short conclusion, it’s a lovely episode and Boston Legal indeed is a quirky show.

Sometimes the expected simply pales in comparison to the unexpected.
You gotta wonder why we cling to our expectations.
Because the expected is just what keeps us steady, standing still.
The expected is just a beginning; the unexpected is what changes our lives.

Awesome episode. Cristina and Burke is still the couple to be. George’s handling his grief in a very weird way and… I don’t think Callie should say yes to his proposal because romantic it may seem (or scary?) you gotta know that he’s being unrational and what if it’s part of the grieving by-product? I’m not saying that they weren’t meant for each other, but it’s definitely not meant to happen at that particular moment. And by acting on such impulse might actually damage their chance of future.

The going after Chief’s position was childish and disgraceful, but I don’t like them that much anyway. However, I surely love the scene between Chief and Dr. Bailey. Before the Chief talked to her, I was thinking that too bad Bailey is only a resident, or she is an ideal candidate for the position… comparing the ones who are after it. Dr. Bailey’s presence has always been strong. A seeming tyranny at the very beginning and with the story rolls on, we know that she’s this person with principles and is actually kind and caring while acting all cold hard. She’s such a lovable character.

不能一次用作者選多本書, 光是 Lawrence Block 就讓我加到手軟了!! 也不能一次編輯多項 ~”~

新居收拾只差臨門最後一腳(?), cable 與網路應該也可在今天搞定 (是否就沒有悠閒晚上了呢? 拔網路線拔網路線啦!) 一直念著要做的事, 終於在今年踏出第一步, 希望有收穫. 另外, 目前每周固定去 gym 兩次以上, 已經持續兩個月了. 很喜歡 Catherine 的課, 可惜她其他門課是開在早上, 翹班也不能這樣翹的! 昨天我的懷疑終於獲得證實, Catherine 真的是英國人呢! 不知為何 Club Sport 的 trainer 為何很多都是英國人, 歐洲人還是比較 fit? 星期一因為 MC 來, 岑叫我還是多睡覺不要做激烈運動的好, 於是沒去. 昨天去竟有點跟不太上, 難道少一次就差那麼多嗎? 也可能是因為血氣還不夠足吧!

晚上回家後弄點簡單的晚餐坐下來看 Charlotte Gray, 關於這部電影(應該)會另起一篇來寫. 非常好看, 有點想要買 DVD 回家收藏. (其實我忘記為什麼要提到看電影了.) 另外, 前幾天看了法文字幕的 Grey’s Anatomy, 又 pick up 了幾個單字. (跟之前唱的法文歌相對照, 就學起來了.) 這麼零零散散地東揀一句義大利文西練一句法文, 我還是好好把德文弄清楚再說吧! 昨天電影納粹德軍講的德文竟一句都聽不懂, 只聽出了 “let” 的德文. 好歹以前大學時看 Hart’s War 時還聽懂了 Come with me. 說到德文, 上周的 GA 裡其中 puritan 父母與小孩就是用德文對話, 她們的德文很美國腔, 聽起來更難懂了.

有些東西需要釐清, 不過現在又到了午餐時間, 也許稍微再續 :)

星期五前得把網路搞定, 不然就看不到真男人．蔣特理隊長（可能）上場了! 不過為了避免麥拿倫隨便(?)拿我們隊長去國家隊用, 我不介意魔力鳥再讓 JT 多休息一周, 雖然很想念隊長, 但完全康復才是最重要的事!!

啊啊, 剛看到 Mourinho 已經確定周末要讓隊長上場了, 現在就打給 comcast!!

賽前還在想會不會我每次比賽前賭 Drogba 進球所以他最近都沒進, 今天 Drogba 在第六分鐘就進球了, 不愧是野獸巴! 給我個繼續賭下去的定心丸 XD

先扯點別的, 前幾天在 Santana Row 看到一個穿曼聯球衣的人, 本來想在跟他擦身而過的那刻叫一聲 “Manchster United!” 的, 但是因為 Manchetser United 念起來實在太長, 所以我只叫了 “曼聯!”, 想當然爾他沒有回頭多看我一眼, 他哪知道”曼聯” 就是 Manchester United的意思呀! (他要是回頭我就跟他說 “Go Blues!” 或是 “Go Chelsea!” 或是”Blue is the colour”, 或是…呃, whatever.) 好啦我知道我很無聊. 其實我也有考慮過經過他身邊時講一句 “Chelsea’s (We’re) gonna beat you, you’ll see.” 不過搞不好在我們戰績追上來之前, he’s gonna beat me first. XD 不過話說回來誰知道呢? 像賤狗(是他吧?)他就有件專門洩恨用的 Arsenal 球衣 (XD), 搞不好人家也不是曼聯球迷, 哈.

嘖嘖, 兵工廠.

回到今天的比賽, 獸巴一開賽就來個振奮人心的進球, 比賽前二十幾分鐘攻擊都很精彩, 尤其是 A. Cole 後傳 Ballack 那腳接下來一連串漂亮的進攻! 可惜運都差了那麼一點, 特別是 Sheva, 不過他真是很積極. :)

忽然 Blackburn 好像活起來一樣, (還是我們睡著了? 中場休息老大再踢幾顆屁股吧!) 那個金髮的誰連過數人長趨直入, 還好有 Cech. 後來空門那一球更嚇人, 還好 Carvalho 跑得夠快! 正當我越來越喜歡 A. Cole (雖然還是覺得 Bridge 比較可愛), 看到他受傷真是超難過的, 希望不會有事. 我們這季究竟是怎麼了? 一個接一個傷, 沒人來鏟也會自己摔倒… orz

Diarra 跟 Makelele 真的長得很像耶!

一邊看比賽一邊分心開了 SportingLife, 想看 Man Utd 踢得如何, 順便看 Spurs 跟 Arsenal (咬牙切齒) 究竟誰要跟我們踢 League Cup final. 本來看到 Man Utd 1-0 Watford, 心想 “Watford 加油啊!” 後來發現 Watford 目前排在聯賽最後, 所以就想算了. 正在胡思亂想時, Lampard 給我們一個超感動進球! 77 min Arsenal 進球, 正想說喔好呀跟 Arsenal 打呀, 結果回頭再看時 Spurs 也進球了… 他兩究竟要 tie 到什麼時候. 我要去吃午餐了!
