Landon Pigg [LP]

[updated]

Can’t Let Go You’re holding me back without even trying to. I cant move on from the past. Without lifting a finger youre holding me back.

The Last Stop 與 Just Like I Am 都有幾句歌詞讓我輕輕一震. How to be Dead, Landon Pigg Tin Man, “With a hammer and a nail I eat this coconut” 這句 drives me crazy. 還好這張專輯是由 On The Other Side 作結.

2007 Golden Globe Award

Didn’t really care for it.

Few notes on the winners list. (Didn’t watch the ceremony. Fun? I doubt. XD)

  • -Guess I cannot advertise Pan’s Laborynth using GG winner. But I think nominee’s good enough, don’t you?
  • -Though a faithful viewer of both, I rooted for Heroes more than for GA. Anyways, Heroes’ got a bright future (is it?)
  • -Hugh Laurie!!!!! (kisses) Strange though, I like his American accent better. I’m usually a fan of British accent.
  • -Poor Marcia. But I haven’t been watching the third season… Don’t know how it was
  • -Alec Baldwin! Didn’t watch 30 Rock. (Too much TV on my hand) But it sure seems to be a really good comedy

Something’s missing

I guess it always has been.

and that’s the reason, like the answer to all questions.

Why, why and why. You keep asking.

And it’s like a chain reaction

wild fire on the prairie

it’s spreading, the movement, in this new year

gotta find the key

promise.

and we’ll see. we’ll verify. we’ll… perhaps start off another journey

but we gotta do this thing first

step by step

getting there

[updated with clip]
Not a very exciting episode, but still something worth talking about. (Too long a holiday, now I wanna talk about everything.)

First, scheisse, I envy Meredith. Being dark and twisted, she still got the thing I long for… (not Derek, plz. Not my type sorry. Ooops, no, Derek@SJ, I’m not talking about you.) Even though the main focus was her snoring issue, still, I was extremely envy of her when I saw that scene. Anyway, don’t mind a woman who’s been bitter for the entire day.

Izzie is so adorable. However, I don’t like her hair style very much when she went to the bank. (On the right: Izzie and Denny moment.)

McSteamy became McBitchy b/c he’s dumped by McExWife. However, I don’t like the way Alex came back to Addison’s dept even though there apparently lies Alex’ true passion. But vanilla latte? It’s too lame. I like the chemistry between Alex and Addison; however, come on, give me a break, there’s enough sleeping around in this hospital.

Switch to the best-loved couple in the series, Cristina and Burke. They’re both too proud and too childish when it comes to relationship. They’ll have to learn that it’s not about winning or losing. There’s more to it in a relationship. However, if they don’t come to this realization at the same time, it’s not likely to work out too. Nevertheless, they’re a strong couple. They’ll survive.

The montage at the end paired with Travis’ Love Will Come Through touched me the most. Francis Healy’s voice, the melody and how the camera flew from one to another. It’s deep and beautiful. It made my heart ache.

Winter Wineland

8:30am people arrived at my place and we were ready to head north. Destination: Santa Rosa. The drive was shorter than we anticipated; we got there 20 after 10 so we decided to fill our stomach with protein, be prepared for the wine ahead of us. We hit a charming inn on the road, had a fulfilling while incredibly delicious family style breakfast (had pancakes, omlette, crab cakes and scramble.)

We started off the day from Ferrari Carano, a rather NAPA-ish (that is, luxurious) winery in Healdsburg region. The beautiful weather paired with refreshing landscape, we had a great begining. The decor inside was superb as well, got us right into the mood of wine tasting. A slice of salami and cheese, a sip of Zin… Ahhh, I admin I forgot what i drank there. However, I believe none of us could plassibly forget the taste of Eldorado Noir. This blend used 100% black Muscat which all grew in Russian River Valley is a last harvest style dessert wine, yet not overly sweet. It’s a very beautiful wine. (So all of us got one.)

(rub his nose and good luck will come your way ^_< ) Due to the time limitation, we only got to hit 6 other wineries (one didn’t participate in Winter Wineland fest.) Dutcher Crossing, they had awesome beaf stew (we all had 2 cups); Preston: excellent pizza and 3 cats; Bella: didn’t get the food, the line was too long, but they held the event in the cave, great atmosphere; Goepfrich: sister winery presented German Riesling; Quivira : tasty Jambalaya; and Lambert Bridge.

Didn’t taste anything too impressive (except the Eldorado Noir); however, it’s such a blast hanging out with friends and visiting different wineries. And the weather and the scenery, can one ask for more?

On our way to Santa Ramen, we took J to experience the famous Lambert street and the night view of Twin Peaks. Though it was freezing, we were lucky enough to have a fogless evening and a beautiful city view.

deja vu all over again

OOOOO = 幫他找藉口

w15o

(you don’t think i’d tell you what it is, do you?)

I should’ve known

ain’t I?

and I’m such a big fan of Jann Arden. Guess there are some things that one can never really learn, like statistics and… how to be insensitive.

It’s gonna be my second favorite Travis song though the MV is kinda silly. (My fav is Why Does It Always Rain on Me. The MV is sorta quirky as well.) Some parts of the song reminded me of 9 Crimes of Damien Rice.

shame on me. I’ve known Moni for over 3 years by now, and this is the first time I listened to Aimee Mann. Anyway, it’s a pretty soothing album.

after i learned to think for others, i.e. be thoughtful, (that was after 凌薇 talked to me one evening on our way home in junior high.) I was often shocked by people who are senseless and careless about others, that is, inconsiderate.

-_-

i’m gonna quit writing stories…

:)

Things are coming together and I’m going forward. =)

Prime (2005)

I’m so glad that I watched it.

I’ve always thought it’s just another a bit ridiculous, a bit hysterical romance comedy as the preview focused on the reaction of Meryl Streep and Uma Thrumann finding out Meryl’s relation to the guy Uma’s dating, but it turned out to be more than that. Prime, like The Break-Up, discussed everyday issues in a relationship.

To err is human, but the question is to what extent you’re going to forgive, and what makes the promises and repentence valid? It’s moving when Dave told her that he makes mistakes but he’s learning very hard. Maybe it’s not enough, maybe the differences between them would eventually set them apart; however, what is there to talk about if one doesn’t even have the willingness to try?

You can always learn and grow if you take it seriously.

TV, welcome back!

Following Shark, House and Boston Legal made the 2nd and 3rd comebacks from the break. To be just, they were both not as refreshing as Shark, which managed to get us reboard onto the pace and the excitement. (Gilmore Girls always did it as well. Everytime after the winter or summer break, I’d lose a bit of passion for GG; however, every season premiere, every mid-season comeback captured my heart at the very moment Carole King sings “Where you lead, I will follow.”)

House was cute, especially the way he smokes, but something seemed to be missing. There were unexpected turns and sometime it made you wanna shout Hell ya. Still, it failed to present some sparkles, only one in House’s eyes at the end of the episode.

But I’m here mainly to talk about last night’s BL.
The center case was one that took Denny and Alan to New Orleans (Mr. Boston goes to New Orleans?) companied by the continuing story of Clarice/Clarence and Denise being horny. I don’t appreciate the “previously on Boston Legal” editing this episode very much. It preluded the 3 storylines efficiently yet twistingly. They put Denny and Alan go to Nemo Bay and Denny and Alan go to spa together while the focus of this New Orleans chaos was entirely NOT related to their firm and loving relationship.

When I started this post, I went to find out the title of this episode and first I cannot figure out how the title was related to the story. And then I realized. But it’s the evidence that how faint the story was. Or like what Alan said in this episode, “I tried to close my eyes and imagine, but I can’t.” We can’t, cos we weren’t there. As homeland security being brought up in Shark, Boston Legal revisited the recovering city of New Orleans. Studio 60 did it in its Xmas episode with a sentimental approach. However, BL here tried to pinpoint the fact that during the time of desperation, it was not the world we used to live in. Norms don’t apply and up is down. You can’t imagine something like that, you have to be there to know.

People tend to be forgetful. We need to be reminded that even though the hurricane is long gone, there are still people struggling to live through the damage it’s done, and some attentions are deserved.

However heavy it was, the show still made me chuckle and laugh. Seemingly cold-blooded Claire was still in the process of helping Clarrnce to let himself out. This part was warm and you can’t help but smiling with them when you see the progress. But Denise, oh Denise… we witnessed her horniness in last episode, and it exploded when Jeffrey Coho came and offered himself. I hate to see them make it an office sex circus. Enough with Denise’s FWB, enough with Shirley’s inappropriate jealousy and intervening… poor Brad, though I don’t like him, looks like a total loser. Always is and always will be. (He even fails to be the office hunk.)

There’s a piece of review of last night’s show which points out the charm of Boston Legal.

NYC

You know you’re in NYC
Too busy, Too crazy, Too hot, Too cold, Too late,
I’m sold, Again, On NYC

The shadows at sundown,
The roofs, That scrape, The sky
NYC

You crowd, You cramp, You’re still, The champ
Amen For NYC

As my envies reach to the top, I yearn to see you again. The messy, the dirty, the beautiful, the full of life. It’s been a year and a half, you seem so close yet unreachable. I grew to like you the way I grew to like 3. Detested at first as I entered the dust and pollution covered island. You know, being used to the clear and vast sky of Amherst, the trees and the snow; the cozy, tasteful, luxurious, artificial yet not affected NOTL, it has to take some time for us to like you, and you did manage to capture our love.

Did go to Seattle last year now that I remembered. Can’t complain. It was beyond beautiful and sort of satisfied my longing for my “hometown”. One of the plan this year is to visit Buf again (mainly Toronto, to visit Adam) and hopefully I can allure Moni to go to the city with me. We’ve been to places together but never the big apple. So many plans. 2007, be bright!

This episode was very worthy of a post. It’s an excellent example of an after-holiday-season come back.
It’s fast paced, with lots of twists and turns. We saw how sides are split within the realm of justice and every man holds his own righteousness. The episode gave us a taste of human lives vs. the big flag of national security. How do you value human lives? How many are worth saving and how many we can afford to sacrifice? Stark won, of course, but we can definitely say that Stark’s met his rival, who’s smart and outthought him. Once again we saw that if you didn’t realize what position you’re in, whether you’re disposable, often times you’d end up badly. All those pain and blood, and for what, I wondered.*

As I half-heartedly whispered “Casey don’t go”, the other pretty soul vanished out of the blue. I didn’t like him particularly; however, it’s still sad to see him leave. And I masked myself and mocked, salary issue again? You know I didn’t mean it.

ps. the title of this episode, The Wrath of Khan was taken from the 2nd movie of Star Trek series, which was often considered the best ST movie ever made.

*hint: Babylon5
