It’s all in my head, it’s all in my head.”
everyone’s wronged me, everyone’s failed me.

It’s not monday blue, but the blueness of the sky made me wanna cry. Or maybe it’s something else.

But as I stepped out of the office and into my car, the sun shined gloriously, brightened me up by pouring the pollinic warmth on my face. RW screamed everything’s broken there’s nothing to break from the stereo. Oh that voice, been my companion for more than 10 years, gave me a sense of home. Safe and warm. Isn’t that the most important thing?

Food and music are essential.

And I got #11 for my takeout. It must be a good day.

Let the sun shine in, face it with a grin :)

#8 gloominess

jealousy flowed in the air, infused a dense smell of corrupted acidity
everyone busy circling and declaring territories
she’s pushed away. she’s the sacrifice.

and the morning cuts you like a knife

tears ran down her cheeks as Kevin Griffin’s voice grinded through her nerves
all of a sudden she realized she’s put in this odd number situation again, in which she’s always the one left out.
this wave of melancholy hit her by surprise and she was striken down mercilessly like a flower in the storm and there was even a faint smile on her face not yet faded
she stayed quietly in the back of the car, scenary ran by so fast that she couldn’t catch her breath. “it’s uncalled for.”

and they say it’s all in her head.

[UCL] Champions League

XD

dilemma

You know you have that influence on people, but you also know there are some who couldn’t care less. You were clueless about her intention but it struck you all of a sudden. You seemed to realized what she meant. You felt comforted. She still cared about you after all. But then you thought it’s likely that you are as clueless as you were before. You don’t ask. She doesn’t say. Broken communication which long seize to exist. You don’t plan to restore it; nevertheless it’d be fun to know.

Butch Walker – Maybe It’s Just Me
A Lot Like Love

The Fray – She is
How to Save a Life, 因為我不想作出一張電台主打歌專輯, 而且 She Is 本來也是 The Fray 這張專輯中我最喜歡的一首歌.

The Delays – You & Me
The Delays – Valentine
The Delays – Hideaway

The Delays 與 Hope of the States 跟 Fratellis 都是我去年最後一兩個月發狂似地拼命聽的團, 到現在還是喜歡的不得了.

Fratellis – Whistle in the Wind

Fratellis – Ole of Black n Blue Eyes

Blondie – Maria

Cake – Stickshifts and Safetybelts

Guster – One Man Wrecking Machine

Prozzak – Strange Disease

The Magic Number – Love Me Like You

Badly Drawn Boy – Born in the U.K.

Creed – Higher

H.I.M. – Killing Loneliness

Hope of the State – Blood Meridian

Sugarcult – She’s the Blade

Wheatus – Teenage Dirtbag

Fictional – Friday I’m in Love

Prozzak – Europa

Bowling for Soup, Our Lady Peace 等等.

Border’s

Punk Planet :(

As I was going through my Language category this evening, I came across the Economist style guide, which apparently I haven’t got to.

I planned to print out some of it and to read it later at Border’s or at home. I came acorss this, and I couldn’t help but finishing it right away.

check it out if interested.

[Deutsch] einfach

subscribe to word of the day. this should more or less increase my vocab. (lazy people’s way to language)

einfach
(adj.)(adv.)
facile, frugal, simple, simply, easy, plain

Das ist einfach. (it’s a piece of cake.)
Du musst den Film einfach sehen.
Es ist einfach nicht wahr.
So einfach ist das.

What a useful word!

My Bookshelf

XD)
我的書架 :D 256_5622_r1

A Little Princess (1995)

little_princess_ver3 A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett was is one of my favorite childhood read, along with Das Doppelte Lottchen by Erich Kästner, Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott, The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Emmuska Orczy, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë and etc. I remembered when I was in elementary school. Everytime I went to the library, I’d dig out Das Doppelte Lottchen (and a picture guide of mushrooms. Mushrooms mezmerise me since I was little.) and I owned four other books at home. Those are the books I never get tired of reading, even though I can almost memorize every little detail. It’s always a pleasure to revisit the stories. All the fun, exciting, touching moments flow with black ink on the paper into my imagination. Good times.

So I checked out A Little Princess from the county library because 1) I just wanted to watch it again and 2) I wanna see if I grew to be too jaded to be touched by something that once could touch me.

It must have been over 8 years since the last time I watch the film. I found that the way I approach a movie has changed, my ability to perceive a film in a grander scale and multiple angles advanced. I’m able to appreciate it in different aspects while still feel the simple joy, the innocence and strength the story tried to convey. There were parts of the movie didn’t go as I expected (details that doesn’t really affect the storyline.) It seems that I have the book and the movie mixed in my memory. The words were branded in my mind profoundly and transformed into image and after 10 years they are still fresh and clear.

And I don’t think I was aware of how beautiful they made the movie. The entire 97 minutes were a grand gratification. If you know me well enough, you’d know that green is never my color. But in the movie, the vast deployment of green and other earthly colors made the story from head to toe fairytale-like. No wonder it was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Art Direction/Set Decoration and Best Cinematography.

I’m gonna get the DVD. =D

No Use For A Name 與 All American Rejects 完整的兩張專輯 orz

(planned to finish my Oscar post in one piece but apparently the pretty women took too much space. )

It’s Ellen DeGeneres’s first time hosting the Academy Awards. Some had doubts in her but having watching her 2005 Emmy, I didn’t think she’d screw it up. She might not be spetacular as her predecessor (here, I’m referring to Billy Crystal, not Jon Swetart, of course), she wouldn’t bring disaster, either. Turned out that she was actually quite good. The jokes were funny (not too dry for the Hollywood people to understand or apprecitiate) and nothing inappropriate. Job well done, Ellen!

I wondered if it’s because they got bashed for cutting winners’ speeches (especially Ang Lee’s) in rather rude manners last year, they were afraid to rush winners when giving acceptance speeches. The ceremony dragged ridiculously long which made us have no choice but to give up our reservation at Melting Pot. But in all, it was a enjoyable evening.

You know, my sister told me that all kids love to get gold stars, and this is the biggest and the best gold star that I have ever had in my life. I want to share my gold star with my fellow nominees, those brilliant, brilliant actresses who gave such amazing performances this year. I also share my gold star with the filmmakers, with Stephen Frears, with Peter Morgan, with Andy Harries and all the producers and all the filmmakers and the cast. Thank you.

Now you know for 50 years and more, Elizabeth Windsor has maintained her dignity, her sense of duty, and her hairstyle. She’s had her feet planted firmly on the ground, her hat on her head, her handbag on her arm and she’s weathered many, many storms, and I salute her courage and her consistency. And I thank her because if it wasn’t for her, I most, most certainly would not be here. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you The Queen. Thank you. Thank you very much.

El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan’s Laborynth)贏得 Best Achievement in Cinematography, Art Direction and Makeup

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest

Will Ferral.

Chelsea v Portmouth (會有小 Niko 耶!)

We are the Champions!!!

Eboue

Jake @ CaughtOffSide commented on someone saying the fans threw “all kind of things” when Fabregas took the corner.

all kinds of things – it was celery!!!
which was also thrown at Robben when he took a corner, and, when we won the league last year was thrown all over the place with Chelsea players throwing it back into the crowd

Chelsea TV 新作

79th Academy Awards misc

69th Academy Awards was by far the most meaningful award ceremony for me. I’m sure I’ve watched the Academy Awards ceremony before, but the 69th remained in my mind after so many years and is still considered one of the best award ceremony ever.

It was in 1997 and Billy Crystal was the host. It was a year which we celebrated films like: Shine, Jerry McGuire, Fargo, The People v.s. Larry Flynt, Primal Fear, The Mirror Has Two Faces, The Birdcage, Romeo + Juliet, Evita, Independence Day, The Rock, Twister, Daylight, Star Trek: First Contact, One Fine Day, That Thing You Do, Up Close & Personal, Emma, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The First Wives Club, and the biggest winner of the year – The English Patient. (Because I was rooting for Shine, I still haven’t seen The English Patient and I dislike Ralph Fiennes for a really long time.) Putting down the list brought me back to the time which seems so long ago yet so close and dear.
1996

but enough history.

It was a long night last evening, the ceremony itself dragged over 3 and a half hours, and we also devoted 2 hours prior to the ceremony to watch the red carpet (switching back and forth from E! to ABC and chanel 11) cos we were all stuffed after having Dim Sum at Li Yu Men and there was nothing better to do than crashing on the futon with our stomach full and nitpicking about how the stars looked.

My favorites
Cate Blanchett – she is the definition of elegance. always classy, never goes wrong.
Helen Mirren – the queen looked fabulous in creamy colour. wonderful hairstyle. just perfect.
Jessica Biel – Simple is the key.
cate helen jessica

My not-bads
Rachel Weiss – she seemed to have lost quite much weight! Anyways, she looks stunning in her retro flair.
Cameron Diaz – though she’s on the top of my least favorite actors/actresses list, I have to say she looked charming in her brunette wind blown carefree hair and the dress is ok.
Reese Witherspoon – I don’t get this trend of going straight. Reese in long straight blonde looked lifeless. However, her dress was impecable. love the layers.
Naomi Watss – yeah her dress was really weird. But it’s Naomi Watts! She’s so pretty! love her hair and necklace.
Nicole Kidman – she’d make my fav list if she get rid of the thing on her right shoulder.
rachel cameron reese naomi nk
My horribles
J Lo – she looked like a help. However, I think the dress would look divine on other people.
Penelope Cruz – what’s with the skirt? looks like a kitchen cloth or bathroom rug.
Eve Green – I believe her gothe look was to match with her co-presentor. But didn’t she know that she can actually change before she presents? what a pity. She looked lethally pretty in Casino Royale.
Kirsten Dunst – horrible
