I remember reading something saying that laughing will make you thin. I guess that’s why I’m thin. (Ok ok…and becuz I’m very picky about food.) Any small thing can make me laugh. Making a good tomato fried eggs makes me laugh. Walking into a wall (and it doesn’t hurt) makes me laugh as well.
No matter it’s true or not, I believe that if small, irrelevant things can lighten you mood and make you smile or even laugh, you can’t be unhealthy.
Simplified Chinese is not real Chinese!!!!
read an article about how Traditional Chinese market is dramatically shrinking, and Simplified Chinese is rising up as China government now offers a TOEFL like Chinese test for non-native speakers. I believe there are still people (scholars maybe?) in Mainland China who promote Traditional Chinese. But we know, and we can tell from the human history, that the stupiders are always more prominant. How sad.

There are some stupid posts on my msg board and I don’t know who posted them. If I do, things shall be easier. If he/she is someone I know, I’ll tolerate and make jokes with them, but if it’s a flying silly stranger, I can scold him/her without hesitation. Now, I can’t either make good with him/her (cuz I don’t know if he/she;s worth it), and I can’t humiliate him/her. It’s killing me.

There’s this sad news in the family which makes me so wanna go back to Taiwan.
As a granddaughtor, I’m not close to them. I really hope that I can be with them, take care of them when there’s still time. I don’t know. The obstacle also comes from the family…
I think I should go back again… if possible

今天跟 Yan 去 costco
在他的慫恿之下又買了兩瓶酒
一瓶是紐西蘭的 im Crowdford 的 2004 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
一瓶就是 Muscat

dancing with the stars turned out to be exactly what I expected
it’s more…like dance a piece of song rather than really dance
but today Joey’s quick step was lively and cute
I remember seeing Richard doing something like that
the other choice is Rumba, til now I’ve seen two couple
and I strated to wonder if Rumba not a romantic at all
for Trista, I think she’s got a terrible self-centered partner
though Trista herself seems “got” little of the dance

We are young, heartache to heartache we stand
No promises, no demands
Love is a battlefield
We are strong, no one can tell us we’re wrong
Searchin’ our hearts for so long, both of us knowing
Love is a battlefield
You’re beggin’ me to go, you’re makin’ me stay
Why do you hurt me so bad?
It would help me to know
Do I stand in your way, or am I the best thing you’ve had?
Believe me, believe me, I can’t tell you why
But I’m trapped by your love, and I’m chained to your side
We are young, heartache to heartache we stand
No promises, no demands
Love is a battlefield
We are strong, no one can tell us we’re wrong
Searchin’ our hearts for so long, both of us knowing
Love is a battlefield
We’re losing control
Will you turn me away or touch me deep inside?
And before this gets old, will it still feel the same?
There’s no way this will die
But if we get much closer, I could lose control
And if your heart surrenders, you’ll need me to hold
We are young, heartache to heartache we stand
No promises, no demands
Love is a battlefield
We are strong, no one can tell us we’re wrong
Searchin’ our hearts for so long, both of us knowing
Love is a battlefield
We are young, heartache to heartache we stand
No promises, no demands
Love is a battlefield
We are strong, no one can tell us we’re wrong
Searchin’ our hearts for so long, both of us knowing
Love is a battlefield

I was anxious about watching the Tony’s, and it turned out to be awesome except for some minor defections, such as Hugh Jackson’s low appearences and some procedural flaws. Still, it’s an enjoyable show.
Let’s talk about its flaws. That’s what I do better. :p
Some presentor seemed to have insufficient preparation. I believe more than one presentor got big tongues that night. Some jokes are not taken, sadly but fortunately, subtly. Billy Crystal was a nice surprise. I’ve always been a big fan of his Oscar; However, I think he did too much this time. Afterall, it’s not really his show. And the beep-out was somewhat annoying, but I guess CBS couldn’t be blame. It’s better to be more cautious than to be sued. Broadway.com was harsh on them, saying, “Does the “c” in CBS stand for “Censorship”? ” and “Thank goodness they didn’t perform a scene from Glengarry Glen Ross. We wouldn’t have heard a word.” lol
The most memorable moment was when Christina Applegate fall off a lamppost on her way to present the Best Choreography Tony right after whoever announced her saying that she broken her leg before the opening of her show. Everyone was shocked and then laughed realizing that it’s predesigned. I adore females who are not afraid of making jokes. Fantastic job, Christina!
The most refreshing one was the performance of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. I didn’t like the music very well, for me, melody is crucial; however, it still aroused my interest. It seems to be a powerful and fun show. I can’t wait to see it!
a fun song widely sung among the people during French Revolution era
Ca ira
Refrain:
Ah! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira,
Les aristocrates à la
lanterne!
Ah! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira,
Les aristocrates on les
pendra!
Le despotisme expirera,
La liberté triomphera,
Ah! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira,
Nous n’avons plus ni
nobles, ni prêtres,
Ah! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira,
L’égalité partout régnera.
L’esclave autrichien le
suivra,
Au diable s’envolera.
Ah! ça ira, Ah! ça ira,
Au diable s’envolera.

I like a whole bunch of different kinda music. Range from classical, country, to rock and roll. Among rock, punk and alternative are two main stuffs I love. I also listen to some metal, and Brit Pop. To tell the truth, it’s really hard to tell exactly what type of music I like. I can only say, I like good music as I like good food no matter what kind.
What’s post-rock. I’ve been reading articles on post-rock board, and after finished a bunch of angry and funny articles, I finally got a vague idea.
post-rock is actually, well, let me quote wiki
using rock instrumentation for non-rock purposes, using guitars as facilitators of timbres and textures rather than riffs and powerchords.
I decide not to go further into Post-rock after I realized it’s sorta like breaking down rock music. I love Rock; I dont think I can endure that. But now as I listen to Mogwai, surely it’s different from any kind of rock music I know, it turned out to be quite refreshing somehow. I guess I won’t fall in love with thsi genre of music but I imagine it’d be a media when I need to shut myself. One said, it’s a kinda music with no vocal and makes you talk less evetually.

How to categorize a band, a musician, or a piece of music has always been controversial. Take a common expression, “ten people would have eleven opinions.” When you really think of it, you’d understand why it’s difficult. I don’t think a music maker (whether it’s a person or a band) would sit down and say, “OK, I’m gonna make a punk song.” I believe a decent creator gives birth to his/her/their work based on his/her/their idea. Each one of them has his/her unique way of expression. Similarity is unavoiable and inevitably some people’s work might be under some people elses’ influence. Still, you can’t say that some’s work are exactly the same as somebody else’s. Even the same person, the same band, in different period of time, in different state of mind would create different style of music. It’s hard enough to categorize one person/one single band.
However, why do I still consider categorizing necessary when it seems irrelevant and futile? Categorizing makes things easier to see. We can’t deny that we sometimes all need to get a big piture of things, since it’s impossible to know it all. Thru the categorization, we’re able to find music of our taste more easily and have the common language to communicate with. But the thing is, we can’t take it too seriously, because among those eleven opinions, not any of them is totally right or wrong.

Some people might think “Gee, your life is not at all tough” when they read the reason why I said life is tough :p
Germany is a must-go
Netherland+Belgium+Luxemberg count as one country
Swizerland (if mom’s going)
Now there’s another one… UK
cuz Nelson’s there, and he’d like me to pay a visit.
I do like London, and no doubt I’m dire to see my friends, but other than that…
I really wanna spend the money and extra time to a place I’ve already been before?
I can go to places other than London that’s for sure.
anyway, I still have time to think about it and he will not necessarily still be there next year.
but, damn, how can I take a month off for Europe and take another two weeks off going back for Chinese New Year in 6 months!? >< Life is tough.

I was always for small luggage. Backpack to me seems clumsy and irrealistic. But now after reading a series of articles on backpack and small luggage, my viewpoint is completely reversed. I never thought of that elevator might not be avaible everywhere, and sometimes you’ll have to squeeze your way on the train or else. But then again, small luggage is pretty useful travelling in the States. And the other thing is… I need to train myself carrying heavy stuffs from now on. Prepare for my Europe trip!
