Leslie Caron /Gigi/

using my landlord’s super hugh TV w/ DVD player, finally I was able to watch Gigi without skipping any part of it. (I guess the DVD player I have on iBook is too picky.)

anyway, after seeing it, I kinda like it, so I went online imdb it a bit. Gigi is played by Leslie Caron who was born in 1931. Therefore, the little girl I just watched jumping up and down is actually a grandma now. However, she still looks vivacious in her recent photos. I hope her lively spirit does preserve thru time. Did a bit study on her filmography and discover that she was in Le Divorce which I’ve just seen not long ago, but of course I have no memory of seeing her. Afterall, it’s been…almost 50 years?

But it really makes you stop and …. be amazed. How time can pass so swiftly. How a person can change bit by bit thru time, and at the same time, how a person can keep his/her characteristics intact. Speaking of which, I can’t help but wonder (again) how Matthew Broderick had turned into a unimportant, shy guy from that confident, charming, bright young man. I don’t believe that one’s acting ability would actually worsen in any way, so the only explanation is that he’s affected (profoundedly) in reality, even more, he’d injured and he hadn’t got out of the trauma ever since.

Life sure is tough. And I hate seeing people I love failing/ being discouraged/being beaten while those who I dispise are happily on their way to paradise.

Absinthe /XXX/

To my surprise, Absinthe seems to be frequently used in movies. It’s said that it appeared in Alfie, a while ago, I just saw Detective Whatshisname used it with laudanum, and now I was watching XXX again, I saw the head of the bad guys having it. (I didn’t know what that was until now.)

I’m so glad that the person had Absinthe shared it with citizens of wine board. He gave me a chance to know something I wouldn’t know otherwise (or maybe I would, who knows?) and hence boarden my world. It allows me to be able to appreciate some little details in life as well as in movie, which might be irrelevant at all, but still it’s nice to know.

People are talking about That 70&#039s Show which is one of my fav
sitcom. But the one thing I don&#039t understand is that many people
watch it becuz Ashton is in it. I have totally no clue at all.
He&#039s not that handsome, and damn, he IS STUPID! There must be many
Marsian in our society :(

I adore Eric :D

Blogeek?

Comparing to someone who has a few thousand blog articles, mine is like nothing. But hey, mine is more juicy :p

I want EYES!

I don&#039t know what the hell ABC&#039s thinking. First they took away
Boston Legal and filled the time slot with Grey&#039s Anatomy. As I
said before, Grey&#039s Anatomy isn&#039t bad, but Boston Legal is awesome!
Why not put Grey&#039s Anatomy to another time slot. There are so many
awful shows on ABC, such as the Bachlor – the stupidest show ever,
why not replace them!? And now they plan to cancel Eyes! This is
outrageous and unforgivable! Are you telling me that you stupid
American can&#039t handle smart stuffs? Or how can you explain the show
that you canceled are the witty ones. This is pathetic! I hate it
that the shows I love love love are canceled (Eyes, Tru Calling,
John Doe < - hey, Fox! There are two on your head!) while those stupid and maeningless shows keep going on and on (rediculous reality shows, stupid teenager drama...) Damn I&#039m angry! Would you please get smarter my fellow stupid Americans for the sake of those who are on the top of pyramid, and are unfortunately greatly outnumbered by you.

The Sky is Blue

It&#039s strange that since I moved to California, I lost the ability
to appreciate the unlimited sky. The entire year when I was in
Buffalo, everytime I looked up at the sky I sighed and can&#039t help
but praising how broad, how beautiful, how beyond imagination it
is. I never lost that feeling. I was never tired of the big blue
sky. Sometimes I would just stand in the middle of nowhere and
appreciate the sky. In the parking lot, in the campus, in front
of Creekside.

Yes, I still sometimes stop for a minute or two when I got out of
my car to gaze upon the sky when it&#039s clear and the incredibly many
numbers of stars are shining. But the sky itself seems to lose it&#039s
appeal to me. I wonder why. Is it becuz the sky is not the same
anymore? (Cuz there are mountains and taller buildings to block
some view?) Or is it becuz without the matching view(scenary)
around, it&#039s just another city night curtain?

Ahh

Wang Chien-Ming is possibly going to pitch on Sunday @ Oakland McAfee Colisium. I was thinking about going, but then I realized the tickets are hard to get cuz they&#039re against the Yankees. So I figure I should save my money for concerts in which I&#039ll have a lot more fun. :p

bye bye now
I&#039m gonna go to bed and hoping it&#039ll be fine

(也許是放了兩個多禮拜的蛋在作怪也不一定)

Not enough

Gilmore girls is coming to another season&#039s end. It seems that this
season finale will be very dramatic.

There&#039s something worth noting in the episode last night.
Logan&#039s Dad told Rory that sometimes it&#039s not enough to do just
what&#039s asked of you.

It&#039s like a spank on the head. It&#039s so true that if you really wanna
accomplish something, you can&#039t just do what&#039s been asked of you.
You have to be more active, agressive (in a good way), or you&#039re
doomed to be nothing.

The smiling quiet one

But there&#039s one thing I learned about myself recently.
When I first join a group of strangers, I tend to be quiet,
tenderly smile, and listen carefully while others are interacting.
People usually mistaken me to be shy. (Or in some definitaion, it
is shy, I guess.) I&#039m like in a battle, I observe and after a
period of time, I come up with a stratage on how to interact with
these group of people (/this person), what to talk and what not to.
After having done the whole calculation and I&#039m feeling more
comfort, I will start to talk rather just answer briefly.

I&#039m taking other quiz&#039s on Blogthing and it came to me that I&#039m really a person full of conflicts. I can&#039t decide who I am, what I am and how I am. Once, I think that&#039s special, then I realized that there are still people like me, but now I guess not everyone is like me. There are still people who are plain and couldn&#039t understand how can a person be two totally different ways of extreme and not being mildly central.

New York, New York

Posting Tony Award news made me can&#039t help but thinking
how nice it&#039d be living in New York city.
(I can&#039t afford to live in New York
city, but she can&#039t afford to leave. -Prozzak
) Though I&#039m
not a big fan of the Big Apple, and I kinda need abudnant sunlight
to keep my spirit high, still I feel New York city&#039s calling me.
Yes, it&#039s dirty and crowded, but hey, remember where I came from?
I adore big cities. And I am never a out door person. I hate
hiking, I have little interests in any kinda of water activities.
I&#039m more of a cultural person. I&#039m not implying that I
am surprior; on the contrary, the reason I lack interests in those
things is because I&#039m lazy and I&#039m a chickenshit. Anyway, east
coast is surely more of my style.
